What we get for doing a TIMELINE

KARL,
.
You continue to amaze me! So the Lenape Chiefs did not fit into the timeline. So it turns out that the Old Norse word means "Judge," as in the "event that judged the year."
.
Remember the "Maalan Aarum" means "engraved YEARS."
.
Using one pictograph per year comes closer to fitting the time line. If Birdie were not monitoring me like an Osprey, I would probably stay up late tonight to see how it works out.
.
But we know the [start] date, 1362, because the KRS and the Maalan Aarum both have the ten men dead episode. The timing looks like the Lenape ran into the advance group of cannibals coming east. The Lenape version [of history] was that they were friends with everybody around them. Then, suddenly, they had ten men dead. The KRS has the "covered with blood" phrase. which could imply cannibals. For hardened sailors, cannibalism might be trauma enough to invoke the Virgin Mary in stone.
.
If the pictograph per year holds. we have YEARLY dates for many of the next century, including the date after Cahokia people were eaten. The pictographs end in AD 1585. There are not enough pictograms to fill the full timeline for two centuries, but there are enough to get from the KRS to the Norwegian Pinning and Pothorst's ship in 1472. Columbus was on the next Norwegian ship, under Norwegian Captain Johannis, whose name is on the LOK Map.
.
I am hoping the pictograph gaps are in the second century. They seem to be.
.
After the Shawnee and Lenape divided there are enough Shawnee pictographs to get the Shawnee down to the war with Cortez, where the Shawnee pictographs end. The Lenape translators in the 1890s said there were two dialects in the translation. They also said the translation was so flawed that they could not understand the words.
.
Imagine, calling "Judges," "Chiefs"! The Maalan Aarum has been known for two centuries. Why didn't some high salaried linguist figure this out long ago? The taxpayers are not getting their money's worth, are they?

Hi, [Karl + seven others]
.
Known Dates 1362 (punched in stone: ten men dead)
Hypothetical Date 1472 (Norwegian Pining & Pothorst, coasting America)
= 110 years
.
Maalan Aarum pictographs = 90. So, Looks like 20 years missing. Hypothetical date may be wrong. Maybe a gap caused by bad ending in SouthWest, with historian dead, followed by delayed history re-start toward northeast.
.
Close enough for government work, or to spend more time looking closely.
.
Have to confirm Cortez dates. See if other known events fit.

Hi, ALL [Karl + 23 more]
.
Re: Maalan Arrum pictographs between KRS & Norwegian ship. Should be 110 years. 1472-1362 = 110 years
.
Upon review I found a few sticks with two distinct pictographs on them. I added a year for each one.
.
Lenape crossed into Cahokia in AD 1403. [I think this is after the cannibals started eating their way up the Ohio in AD 1400.]
.
Chapter 4 ends in war confrontation.
Chapter 5 begins with "Long Ago" in "Peaceful"conditions.
i assumed, maybe, nine years of pictographs were missed.
.
Shawnee and Lenape divided in AD 1441
.
Shawnee go southwest. Much war. After seven years Grandfather took boats to other lands. Record ends. [This is too early for Cortez.]
.
[We have a minor puzzle to solve here.] (Something for the kids to do.)
.
Pictographs resume with Snow Hunter going North. Rest of Pictographs are about Atlantic Coast.
.
I assumed at least two years of pictographs were not made, or lost, until a Lenape historian picked up the role.
.
When I came to the end, without looking ahead, the Norwegian Ship shows up in the pictograph in the 109th slot.
.
[The hypothetical date from Norwegian sources is 1492. The Maalan Aarum date comes out to be 1491. We are playing in the infield of the same ball park. I made two WAGs to get this close.]
.
It is my list of Engraved Years. I am sticking to it!
.
Do you realize what just happened?
.
We now have a pictograph and a stanza for each year, except for the eleven missing pictographs, from the KRS to the Norwegian ship BEFORE the Norwegian ship Columbus was on.
.
We have defined the route of the Lenape and the development of their "Miami" [heartland] in Ohio. We have confirmed a decent date for the Cahokia disaster. We have probable indication of reactions to cannibalism.
.
We have confirmed the KRS, provided a hypothesis for the destruction of Cahokia and Ohio, before it was restored by the Lenape. We can document Cahokia recovery, the Shawnee-Lenape Divide, and the Norwegian, Pining Pothorst, voyage .
.
[The fight with De Soto is recorded after the the 1st Norwegian Ship.]
.
We can also guess that we know why the Shawnee and Lenape retreated to Ohio when the Whites began the "Hell in the Handbasket" routine.
.
WE DONE GOOD!
